SPIE is an international society for optics and photonics, connecting students and scientists from all over the world. V.E. Zuev Institute of Atmospheric Optics SB RAS Chapter is one of two existing SPIE Chapter in Siberia. It was founded on the initiative of the IAO Young Scientists Council in 2005. Today’s Chapter renewed its functioning at the end of 2018. All students of the Institute are welcome.

The primary objective of the Institute is to perform basic and applied research in the field of Atmospheric Optics, as well as to design and fabricate new devices, software, and databases for this research. All these scientific directions are covered by SPIE society competence. With a broad portfolio of programs and tools designed to assist students build their career and professional network, SPIE Student Services opens doors to the global optics and photonics community.

SPIE Student Membership and Student Chapters afford even more resources and more connections as Members engage in a dynamic international network of students working in optics and photonics programs. That is why SPIE Chapter can be of service for each of our students seeking for PhD degree.


IAO Chapter Mission

1. Connection and interaction of young scientists working in the field of Optics and Photonics to increase their professional skills, socialization level, ability to work in a team and ability to share with the world their ideas and results.
2. Familiarization of the younger generation with the tasks and prospects of the field of Optics and Photonics and identification of talented personalities in Tomsk region.
3. Large-scale globalization of optical researches by establishing international relations.
